Welcome to my homepage! My name is Amy Burtscher and I have taught second grade at Northwood for 9 years. I have taught 13 years total and they are all in 2nd grade. My husband Dave is an 8th grade U.S. History teacher at our Middle School. He also coaches Varsity Football at Hoover. We have 2 children who keep us very busy. Ashley is 8 and Beau is 5. Our family loves sports and we go to many events throughout the year. I enjoy swimming, reading, and playing cards.
Team 2B consists of 11 boys and 10 girls. We use lots of teamwork and cooperative groups in our class. Reading and Math skills are a constant focus all year! Yes- good "character" does count. Respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, citizenship, trustworthiness are all modeled and practiced as we focus on one pillar each month.
