Welcome and thank you for taking an interest in your child’s art experience. My name is Miss Denise Boyd and I am the art instructor here at Orchard Hill. I would like to take this opportunity to give you a little background about myself.

I currently hold two degrees from the University of Akron. The first is a Bachelor’s Degree of Fine Arts in Graphic Design and my most recent is a Master’s Degree of Science in Education with a Licensure to teach Visual Arts.

I was an accomplished Graphic Designer for 12+ years working in a variety of settings. It had become apparent to me that my love for art had changed directions. I was no longer content in a profession that produced art, but felt compelled to share with others the knowledge I had acquired over my art career. It is my pleasure to share my knowledge weekly with your child.

Your son/daughter has forty-five minutes every week to learn about some incredible masterpieces and the artists who create them. We will be completing art projects that engage your son/daughter in the creative process by building confidence and self esteem, and allowing self expression and creativity.
