Welcome to fourth grade. This will be a great year! In reading, we will learn about everything from Walt Disney to rainforest animals. In writing, we will exchange letters with penpals in England and learn how to write "yum" paragraphs. In math we will learn about double digit mulitplication, fractions, and we'll learn a geometry dance. In social studies we will be learning all about the state of Ohio and you will have the chance to research and become a famous Ohioan! There are also some special things you get to do only if you are in my homeroom because I expect my students to be the best behaved class in the school. Every week we celebrate the students who have shown good behavior with a Fun Friday. During Fun Friday you will experience things like the "Banana Pledge" and "Speedball." When asked what they enjoyed the most about being in my classroom, most of my students say earning Fun Fridays, playing Speedball, writing to penpals, or working on different social studies projects. What I enjoy most about being in my classroom is getting to know my students and making learning fun!

Now that you know about my classroom, let me tell you a little about me. I love teaching fourth grade! As a matter of fact, eight of my eleven years in education have been teaching fourth grade. I earned my Bachelor's degree in education from Malone College and my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Ashland University.  I am married and live in Jackson Township.  My husband works for Hartville Lumber and Millwork.  I also have a little boy who will be two years old in October. His name is Andrew.  In my free time I enjoy reading, shopping at Kohl's, and eating at Pizza Hut. I hope that this brief biography allows you to know me a little better, and I look forward to getting to know you as well!
